Day 1 – Meetup In Prague
We’ll start the trip by focusing on getting to know one another with a relaxing stroll through the town visiting some great beer bars & eateries while passing by some local monuments.
Day 2 – Prague (Culture Day)
Today we’ll of course keep focusing on the food and cuisine of Prague, but we’ll do so while learning more about it’s history and modern culture. A friend and local guide will show us some highlights while pointing out their favorite haunts.
Day 3 – Day Trip to Pilsen
We’ll take the train to Pilsen to tour the historic Pilsner Urquell Brewery and drink unfiltered, unpasteurized lager poured straight from pitch-lined oak barrels in the underground cellars.
Day 4 – Bamberg Night 1
The smoked beers and Unesco Heritage site that is Bamberg itself await us. We’ll take a slight detour en route to enjoy lunch (and locally made beer) at one of the 200+ small family breweries that line the countryside. 
Day 5 – Bamberg Night 2
We’ll take advantage of the full day in Bamberg with a bit of free time, a walking tour, and dinner with some of the best views of the city (and great beer of course). 
Day 6 – Stuttgart Beer Festival
After a late morning train to Stuttgart we’ll we’ll take in some sights and get our bearings before heading out to the Cannstatter Wasen festival grounds. This is the opening weekend of the Stuttgart Beer Festival. 
Day 7 – Stuttgart to Munich
We’ll spend the early morning and lunchtime in Stuttgart to take in a bit more of what the city has to offer before we head into Munich for an early dinner and down to prep for our day at Oktoberfest.
Day 8 – Oktoberfest
We’ll spend the afternoon at the Theresienwiese fairgrounds. Because it is a Monday, we can expect easygoing crowds, but still take in the oompah brass bands alongside the locals.
Day 9 – Departure
Depending on how you’re feelilng or what your travel plans are, we’ll group for one more brunch with plenty of coffee, and perhaps one last beer, before we part ways.

  • Our lunches & dinners will focus on excellent beer & food pairing experiences. A mix of traditional, modern, fusion, & street food
• Brewery Tours
  • We focus our tour time on breweries with a story.
• Guided cultural walking tours with local experts.
  • Other group trips like to snub their noses at these, but I think they just don’t know the difference between a good tour and a bad tour. I do, and I hold good tour guides in high regards. They are our window into the local culture, history, and modern life in the places we are visiting.
• Free time to explore other cultural sites & experiences on your own.
  • I will have plenty of recommendations for art, culture, food, coffee, wine, spirits, etc… What ever it is YOU are looking to get out of your time.
• Transportation between destinations (a mix of private vans, short train travel, and public transport).
• Gratuities for guides, drivers, & meals. 

• Airfare from your home to meetup destination.
• Additional food and beverages outside our planned tours and meals.
• Additional gratuity for other guides/hosts at your discretion.
• Breakfasts (hotel breakfasts are rarely worth the expense, and I’ll have plenty of suggestions for local bakeries & cafes). 

Physical Demands:
You should expect to walk 8,000-12,000 steps a day on average. Free time and rest are built into the itinerary, but there is a lot to cover, and much of it will be by foot. 

Pack smart:
Public transit & trains are the best ways to see a country. We’ll take in the sights & enjoy the world class train travel that Europe is known for. You will be expected to be able to carry your own luggage.

Hotels & Flights:
Flights to our meeting point are not included. It is highly recommended that you arrange to fly 2-3 days prior to our meeting day. You’ll appreciate the extra time to acclimate to the time zone, and delays and cancelations are part of modern travel. I will provide details for our first and last hotel stays so that you can book your extra time before or after our time together accordingly.
